Focus Assessments

Custody Evaluations are a long and expensive process. Many families do not have the finances and or time to go through the official process of a full custody evaluation with psychological testing.

We provide focus assessments, which consist of answering questions by the court and or through consent agreement. We provide recommendations of parenting plan structure for parties that have agreed on the parenting plan percentage. Many parties agree on a percentage of parenting time but get stuck in the details. While we do not evaluate how much custody the parties should have, we take cases with complex dynamics and work with both parties to give solutions.

Reunification is often court ordered without consulting with a psychological professional and it is legally driven and often does not align with what psychological professionals need in the agreement. This causes delays, increases conflict, and causes delays in the process. Upon request by the court or legal agreement, we provide assessments, and a report for the court, or mediated/consent agreement. We assist in developing and planning for reunification and a phasing in process. With our expertise and training we are a one stop shop for families who are experiencing the stress of separation and or divorce.

Reunification and Resist/Refuse Dynamics between a Parent and Child

Reunification therapy/family therapy assists families experiencing a break in the parent/child relationship. Examples of such breaks include visitation refusal or when a child has not seen a parent for more than 3 months and visitation resistance/refusal. Reunification services require both parents or guardians and the child/ren to be involved in the process. Through reunification the goal is to build a healthy connection between a parent and child. We only accept reunification cases that are either court ordered or there is a legal consent agreement in place.
